After a magical season in 1926, Coach Robertson had the unenviable job of following it up the next year. This didn’t phase the coach nor the Bearcat squad in 1927 as in some ways, they had an even more dominant year. The only defeat of the season came in the opening game at Sedro-Woolley as the Bearcats were shutout 12-0. It seemed as though defeat only fueled the Bearcats as it was not only their only loss but it would also be the only time they allowed a team to score on their defense all year. The ‘Cats then went on a rampage the rest of the season, shutting out teams and trampling over defenses as the offense came into its own. After blowing out Marysville 31-0, the Bearcats secured their second straight county championship as they finished at 5-1. Despite two remarkable seasons at Monroe, Coach Robertson left the program and was replaced by Ward Holloway.
