After a decade of winning, the 1959 Bearcats under new coach Jerry Ramey struggled greatly all season. The season would be their worst in a decade and their first losing season of the 50’s as Coach Ramey couldn’t find much success in his first season under the helm. Both the offense and the defense struggled to be productive as the ‘Cats sound themselves at with six losses and a tie with only two games left in the season. The Bearcats managed to defeat Sultan to narrowly avoid suffering a winless season.
