After two dismal seasons, the 1995 Bearcats returned to playing good, competitive football for much of the year. Despite losing two games early in the season by over 20 points, the ‘Cats scratched out victory after victory to find themselves with a 5-2 record with only two games left. Just as it seemed Monroe was bound for a return to the state playoffs, the Bearcats fell to W.F. West in a tight 14-11 loss and were blown out by Arlington to end the season with a 5-4 record.
