In only their third year playing football, the Bearcats captured their first ever county title in their 1913 season. After a tie and a victory against Marysville, Monroe was primed to make a run for the championship as the rest of the county games were on the way. A loss to Everett put these hopes into doubt but a win against Bothell and a blowout of Stanwood were enough to secure the county championship that season.
