After an extremely successful 1916 season, the Bearcats regressed the following season. Though the season is incomplete, what is known shows that the team showed a great deal of inconsistency throughout the year. The season started out on a rough note as a game at Marysville resulted in a 54-0 drubbing of Monroe. However, the very next game at Snohomish would be a smashing victory. A 72-0 blowout of the Panthers that is the largest margin of victory in the long history of the Monroe-Snohomish rivalry. The next week would be another massive defeat at the hands of Bellingham by a score of 52-7 followed by a 13-7 victory against Marysville. The last game of the season would be another game against Marysville but the score would not be reported.
