Despite the records of the 1930 season being fragmentary, what can be found shows a successful year for the Bearcats. After starting out with a victory against Bothell, the ‘Cats faced Seattle College in a non-conference matchup. The result was more than a defeat as the game led to the injury of some key players for Monroe and led to another defeat the next week against Cashmere. Monroe would recover its strength as it pulled out a victories in at least four of the last six games of the season. Reporting in the local newspapers towards the end of the season becomes spotty as scores of certain games and even outcomes of matchups aren’t documented. Nevertheless, the Bearcats are reported to have won their county title and they finished with at least a 5-3 record. It would be Coach Bankhead’s final season with Monroe and Manley Sackett took the reigns for the 1931 campaign.
