After posting a decent record in his first season, the Bearcats improved little in Coach Chatterson’s second year. The season started out looking very promising as the ‘Cats began with a 3-1-1 record, powering in large part to a capable defense. After defeating Edmonds, the Bearcats met up against their arch-rival Snohomish in a pivotal game. The Panthers demolished the Bearcats 32-6 and from then on the team went into free-fall. Following the loss, the ‘Cats tied Mount Si and fell to Sultan in their rivalry game before ending the season with a win against North Kitsap. Monroe finished 4-3-2 on the year and Coach Chatterson left the program following the season, replaced by Jake Donnelly for 1946.
