Ending the 1950 season on a four game streak, Coach Stahl and the Bearcats looked to improve on their record the next season. The season began much like the last season had ended as the Bearcats won their first four games, looking dominant in each victory. The first major challenge came when the ‘Cats traveled to Lake Stevens for an important conference game. The Vikings dismantled the Bearcats, setting into motion the struggles the team faced the rest of the season. Injury hit to offense and took a toll on their production, going from a capable force to barely managing a score a game. After starting 4-0, Monroe went 2-3 to finish the season on a low note after a defeat by a powerful Sultan team. The team showed promise but it hadn’t reached it peak just yet.
