For the second year in a row, Coach Lucero and the Bearcats posted a strong 8-2 mark on the season. The ‘Cats looked impressive on both sides of the ball, contributing to lead the team to a 6-1 record, defeating rivals Sultan and Lake Stevens but losing to Marysville. Monroe then traveled to Stanwood to avenge their loss last season but the Spartans had other plans, defeating the Bearcats and preventing them from capturing a conference title yet again. Disappointed but not phased, the ‘Cats closed out the year by beating Lake Stevens for a second time and edging out Burlington-Edison to repeat with an 8-2 record.
