Despite improving over an abysmal season the year before, the 1983 Bearcats struggled to be competitive all season. Their first win came in the first game of the year, a gutsy 3-0 win at Lake Stevens, but from then on it was more of the same for the majority of the season. A win against Mountlake Terrace would be the only other highlight of the year as the ‘Cats finished 2-6. After the season was over, Monroe moved on from Coach Rollins and hired Kurt Nowadnick to head the 1984 team.
