The first season under new head coach Kurt Nowadnick would see many struggles for the Bearcats. Despite winning three games, nothing came easy for the ‘Cats as they did not score more than seven points in a single game. Although the Monroe defense was very strong, a non-existent offense squandered its efforts. The Bearcats only scored 32 points all season, costing Monroe many close games where a mediocre offense could have put the team in contention for a conference title. The ‘Cats under Coach Nowadnick still had a long road ahead of them before they could become a competitive team.
