After making consecutive trips to the state playoffs and earning a share of the WESCO conference title the year before, 1988 squad would miss out on both distinctions although they would finish with a respectable 6-3 mark. Starting out 1-2, the Bearcats hit their stride in the middle of the season with a four game winning streak. It seemed as though the Bearcats had a third straight trip to the playoffs in hand before a loss to Woodway devastated the season. A solid win against Mountlake Terrace to close out the regular season meant little as the ‘Cats missed a surefire postseason berth.
