The 2000 season would be the last that the Bearcats had as a WESCO 3A team as Monroe was being moved up to the 4A conference the next year. Rather than ending their standing as a 3A team on a high note, the team struggled mightly as they started out the season losing five straight games. The ‘Cats managed to defeat Meadowdale and Lynnwood but were soundly defeated by the rest of their foes. Monroe closed out its time as a 3A school with a lowly 2-7 record.
